Anyway, I could hear the *jingle jingle* of her collar from the darkness. She leapt up on the deck and trotted into the house. As I greete
"Umm, Beau, has she got something in her mouth?"
Beau looked down since she had reached him in the kitchen. "Yeah," He stood up and walked toward her. "She's got..."
A mouse! OMG.
*plech* she spit it out at Beau's feet. It was teeny and grey. Cute, even. Beau picked it up gingerly by its tail. Two globs of blood remained on the floor where the mouse had been. He walked to the door and chucked it into the night.
I spent the next 10 minutes both laughing and feeling like shit. OMG, she actually brought a mouse into the HOUSE! Hahahaha. OMG, that poor poor mousie! *sniff sniff*
I've started to see rats around the property in the last week, too, since it's starting to get cold. And now with a second cat, and a dufusy "attack it if it moves" dog, this should be an interesting winter.

Whenever Buddy leaves me mice...or moles...or a chipmunk, I always rub his head and tell him what a good boy he is.
He doesn't bring them in the house, though. I guess he doesn't want to share with the other cats.
Trust me, I love that she goes after these things, and that the dog (attempts to) goes after the rats, but I'd prefer the bloody carnage out of doors as well. :)
Here we are, a night later... I opened the door, and in she trotted again... with ANOTHER poor little mouse in her mouth. Not dead. Batted it around the kitchen floor before Beau chucked it out again.
*sigh*
Siris is an indoor/outdoor cat, as well, and I have been dreading him bringing a gift to me, especially since we live in the city and there are huge rats out there, possibly. But, so far, I have been without a gift. *knock on wood* I wonder if the badger who lives under the house behind ours is catching all of them first, or maybe Siris is leaving him gifts instead....
They do call the rats around here, "Norwegian Rats," Kim :)
